Which ScribSave is ours

More than one website uses a similar name to this one. That is worth being straight about rather than hoping nobody notices. This page says which address is ours, how to check, and what we will never ask you to do — which is the part that actually protects you.

The addresses that are not us

Websites that copy a name closely enough to catch somebody out are not unusual, and at least two are in circulation: scribsave.net and scribsave.top, among others nobody has catalogued. They are listed here so a visitor who lands on one knows they have arrived somewhere else.

What we are saying, and what we are not. These are not our sites, we are not connected to them, and nothing you enter on one reaches us. That is a statement about who we are, and we are in a position to make it.

We are not calling them fake, unsafe or a scam, and we would rather you did not take our word for anything about how they actually behave. We have not investigated them, we do not know who runs them, and a notice from a competitor saying so would be worth nothing even if it were true. Judge them the way this page asks you to judge any site: on what they ask you for.

Our address is scribsave.com

That is the only website we operate. We do not run another site, a mobile app, or a service under a similar name, and nobody else is connected to this one. If you arrived somewhere else, you are not on our site and nothing you enter there reaches us.

Three ways to check where you actually are:

  • Look at the address bar. Ours reads scribsave.com and nothing else — no other domain before or after it, and no path that looks like a login to a different service.
  • The connection is encrypted, shown as a padlock. If the address bar says http:// or shows a warning, you are somewhere else.
  • We are at support@scribsave.com, and that is the only address we use. It appears in the footer of every page.

What we will never ask you to do

This is the part worth memorising, because it is how these things usually work. Everything below is a thing this site does not do and never will, so a site asking for any of it is not this one:

  • Install anything. There is no extension, app or program to download here. The converter runs on this page. If a site tells you to install something, put something into your browser, or paste code into a console to make a download work, stop.
  • Create an account before downloading. No account is needed to convert a document, and adding one will not make a download work that is otherwise being refused. There is nothing here that registration unlocks.
  • Pay anything, or enter card details. Not for a conversion, not to remove a limit, not to make a file bigger. There is no paid tier and no upgrade.
  • Give us your Scribd password. We never ask for it and we have no way to use it. We read only the public pages a visitor can already see without signing in.
  • Send you somewhere else to collect the file. Your file appears on this page and downloads from this address. If a conversion sends you to another domain for the download, it is not this site.

Why we say we will never do these things

Because they are the ones that cost people something. A converter that needs no account, no install and no payment cannot ask for your card, so there is nothing here to steal. Every claim on this page is a property of how the site is built rather than a promise about the future — the page has no account requirement to remove, because it never had one.

It is also why we tell you plainly what the converted file is: a high-resolution picture of every page, which you can read and print but not search inside. That is worth knowing before you convert anything, and a site promising otherwise is selling you a file it cannot produce.

If a site is using our name

Tell us and we will look at it. Send the address to support@scribsave.com, or through the contact page, and it goes into the same reporting process as a copyright complaint on the copyright and takedown page.

If a site is passing itself off as us and you have already entered something on it, changing the relevant password is the useful next step. We would rather know about the site than argue about it.

Check the address, then convert

No account, no install, no payment. The document comes back on this page.
