Why use this Scribd downloader

Built for one job, done properly.

Every page, in order

The whole document is captured, not the first few pages. Page numbers stay in sequence so the file reads the way the document does.

No watermark, no upsell

Nothing is overlaid on the pages, and there is no pop-up between you and the download. The button is there when the file is ready.

Honest about failure

If a document cannot be converted, you are told exactly why — private, removed, or too long — instead of a generic error.

Text you can search

Pages are captured at high resolution. The PDF is a picture of every page, so it is not searchable — here is why. Most other downloaders have the same limitation, and they break for a specific reason.

Your choice of quality

Pick the width and compression that suit the document: small for reading on a phone, sharp for archiving.

An account if you want one

Skip it entirely, or create a free one to keep a history of your downloads and raise the daily limit.

How it works

Three steps, no guesswork.

  1. 1

    Paste the link

Copy the address of a public Scribd document. Locale links such as pt.scribd.com and tracking parameters are cleaned up for you.

  2. 2

    We render it

A real browser loads the public viewer, scrolls through every page and captures each one at full width.

  3. 3

    Download the PDF

The pages are combined into one PDF. Watch progress live, or come back to the link later in the same browser.

What you get, and what you cannot

The short version, before you convert anything.

Works on

  • Any document readable in Scribd's public viewer
  • Documents on any Scribd language site, such as es.scribd.com
  • Both document links and embed links
  • Long documents, up to the size limit
  • Scanned documents, as images

Will not work on

  • Documents behind a login
  • Paid or subscription-only documents
  • Documents that have been removed
  • Anything hidden from the public viewer

Not sure which case you are in? How to download a Scribd document explains the options you have, including the ones that need no converter at all.

Common questions

The things people ask first.

Do I need an account?

No. The converter works without one — paste a link and the PDF appears on the next page. A free account is optional and only adds a saved history and a higher daily limit.

Will the PDF have a watermark?

No. Nothing is overlaid on the pages.

Can you convert a paid or private document?

No. Only documents Scribd serves publicly can be converted, and we do not bypass any access control.

How long does a conversion take?

Usually under a minute for a short document. Longer documents take longer because every page is genuinely rendered.

All questions

Why not just print the page to PDF?

The honest answer, because it is a fair question.

Every page, in order Only what fits the screen Yes, including the ones you have to scroll to
One page per sheet Breaks long pages across sheets One document page per PDF page
Searchable text No — the viewer draws it, there is no text layer No, and we will not pretend otherwise
The document's own aspect ratio Forced to your paper size Kept as rendered
The viewer chrome Sometimes included in the capture Removed — you get pages, not a screenshot of a website

The one thing we cannot do is hand you a text layer. Scribd draws its pages as images, so there is no text in them to recover. If you need to search and copy the words, look for the original file.

Which links work

Anything Scribd serves to a visitor who is not signed in.

works https://www.scribd.com/document/123456789/title

The usual one, copied from the address bar.

works scribd.com/document/123456789/title

With no https://. Chat apps strip it often enough that we guess it back.

works pt.scribd.com/document/123456789/title

Any locale host. The document is the same document everywhere.

works www.scribd.com/embeds/123456789/content

An embed link works just as well as the page it came from.

will not work www.scribd.com/someone

A profile, a search or a collection. No document id in it.

will not work www.scribd.com/document/premium_thing

No numeric id, so nothing identifies a document to fetch.

Got a list rather than a single link? The link extractor pulls every Scribd link out of any text you paste.

What people use it for

If you can read it on Scribd, these are the usual reasons.

Coursework and reading lists

One PDF instead of twenty tabs, in the order the list was in, so you can work through it offline.

Research you have to annotate

A real page on a real page size is something you can highlight and write on, which a screenshot is not.

Reference material you keep re-opening

A manual, a recipe collection, a guide. Save it once instead of finding it again every time you need it.

Handing something to someone else

A single file that opens anywhere beats a link that needs a login, an account or a working connection.

Archiving what you have read

Documents get renamed and links rot. A file you hold does not.

Proof you were sent it

A dated PDF is easier to keep than a URL somebody could have edited after you saw it.
